Let me start by saying I never felt sully supporting by my team and my manager was very cold from the start. Over 2 years go by and I was let go after being out on a pip. I was told I was improving until I had a serious medical emergency and had to call out. After that, it seems like everything I was doing was incorrect. I then was on a call with my manager, director and HR. I was informed that I was being terminated and then HR read off to me from a script telling me my benefits will go till end of the month and then immediately said “goodbye” and everyone disappeared from my screen. I was given no option to ask questions, I was given no severance n for the separation. It was all so heartless and extremely unprofessional.
Aside from that horrible experience I went through, here are more cons:
- absolutely no culture
- some cold colleagues and not pleasant colleagues (I’m a very outgoing bubbly person so this was hard for me)
- not a lot of pto and your pto has to be used for holidays like Christmas, etc.
- extremely siloed
- no exposure to the “big picture” or the impact my work was making down the funnel
- almost no opportunity for promotion unless the person above you leaves or somehow gets promoted
