Pros

The pay far exceeds the average $ amount paid per hour in the Valley area for a call center. The benefits are pretty good. There is an reimbursement program for gyms and childcare.

Cons

No room for advancement, even though they push you to try to advance you reach a certain CSR level and they block you from going any further. If you don't work overtime they suddenly could care less about you. The Quality requirements change daily, and CSR's on not notified of changes so your QA's fluctuate from month to month. Management still doesn't know what's going on and it changes every 3 months. In the 2 years I was there I had 4 different supervisors.

Pros

In the IT half of the company, it's easy to get recognition for doing a good job. If you carry a "think like an owner" mentality, it will get you far. Most people in the company have blinders on and can't see the bigger picture, so if you can break-free of that mindset, do a good job, and show people how beneficial actions like that can be, you'll get recognized. The company has recognized that the current way of doing business isn't sustainable, so they are implementing changes to change course. They're doing it from the top-down by removing incompetent manager and they're doing it from the bottom-up by hiring employees with the mindset they want to foster. Also, many people who work there are willing to help when you need it, even if they already have a lot to do themselves. McKesson's IT half is definitely changing, so it's a great place to be if you're willing to put forth the effort and assist with the change.

Cons

It's definitely a corporation. If you don't like wearing collared shirts and dress slacks, this isn't the place to work. The inertia of the "that's the way we've always done it" mentality can be hard to break, even when trying to implement a quick, easy change.

Pros

McKesson is a large, diverse company with a large variety of opportunities for employees who take initiatve and are willing to pursue career growth. It's a good place to build a career. Employees at McKesson are very supportive of each other, something I have not experienced at other employers.

Cons

As with any services company, the travel can be demanding at times. However, there are opportunities to pursue positions with less or minimal travel.
