Great place to learn, but not a great place to earn...

Pros

Focus on employees, work-life balance, and competitive position made working for McKinstry fun and interesting. I learned a lot about the industry and developed many skills during my time there. I also met some amazingly talented people that I remain friends with.

Cons

Compensation for star employees was not significantly different from pay for underperforming employees. Rising stars and future leaders often found better paying jobs after a year or two of frustration.

Free to create, always taking care of the customer whether inside or outside the company walls, no one watches over your back, they seem to care about their people, stable for a construction based company.

Cons

Its very hard to find time to take a vacation, it takes on average 2 years to find your way thru the company and understand how it all works

Great group of CFE's at site location. Building is very diverse and offer's new challenges daily.

Cons

Forgotten by corporate office, treated as outcasts by mandatory union. Very difficult organization structure working for McKinstry who is contracted to another company in the maintenance of the site.
