Pros

Many employees do the best they can in a bad environment. It is middle management and the employees that keep the doors open.

Cons

Many have personal agendas. Very poor people management. Sr Management only care about how the bottom line is perceived to the outside world. IT is a total mess and should be redone. IT only deals with fires all day and has NOT made innovations in quite some time. They deceive customers about how robust and technically savvy they are while developing what would not pass the most basic internal audit. It is all smoke and mirrors.

Pros

Excellent salary and benefits Good location in King of Prussia - close to Mall and all manner of local commerce. Near to Philadelphia too; half hour without traffic.

Cons

Internal IT systems are pieced together as a hodge-podge of various projects and components, each serving individual functions without concern to impact to other projects or people. Priorities are ill defined allowing the person who screams the loudest to get issues resolved or an executive to arbitrarily resolve conflicts. There was no disaster recovery plan in place when I was there. No integration testing of new components. No plan to upgrade and revamp aging systems. High turnover rate within Medrisk.

Pros

The people are fantastic and the office is great. It has a family atmosphere. The hours are very flexible, and you get to work from home one day a week. The culture is great. Several fun events are held throughout the year, including an entire week's worth of games, food, and contests to celebrate Customer Service Week. There's a substantial Holiday Party at the end of each year.

Cons

Although the company is growing, it still suffers from small company issues. There is no centralized process around anything, and you'll find little to no documentation on the processes that do exist. There's no formal training system either. New employees are generally trained by taking on tasks that force them to go around the office asking questions. Most problems are solved with band-aid solutions instead of taking the time to make things better and more efficient.
