Pros

Knowledgeable staff, up-to-date veterinary technology, multiple departments allow for growth in specialty fields, willing to train new people, good health benefits for full time employees.

Cons

Terrible workplace morale. Management will not hesitate to overwork you unless you continuously stand your ground. Understaffed, but chooses to hire people with little to no experience and sets them up for failure.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand the challenging demands in the veterinary profession and are committed to developing and maintaining a culture of wellbeing in our hospital. We are aware that our teams continue to be challenged by the increased workload that the past couple of years have brought and continue our focus on internal training opportunities along with strategic recruiting to attract the best and most skilled talent in our field. Providing the top patient care for all of our patients will always be a top priority for our organization. Cultivating an environment of compassion and empathy is what we strive for. We want to ensure our teams can navigate the challenging emergency and specialty veterinary medicine space and encourage employees to make their mental and physical health a priority. Resources available to employees include mental wellbeing apps, our Employee Assistance Program, and the creation of a well-being room. Utilizing PTO is always encouraged to help team members reset and recharge. Our local and regional leadership are here to support all caregivers and we welcome feedback. We encourage any concerned team members to reach out to their local HR Partner, Clinical Manager or Hospital Director for further discussion. We appreciate feedback as it helps us innovate and improve.

Pros

Not one pro. Benefits sub par. Discount sub par.

Cons

Poor work life balance. Toxic management and staff. No recognition. They write everyone up to try and address issues but then perpetuate the issues themselves.

On Behalf of Hospital Director: We strive to provide our caregivers with a great experience and a welcoming environment. As an organization we have focused strongly on offering multiple wellbeing resources such as, Headspace, Talkspace, and an extensive EAP. Here at MedVet, we also must hold all our caregivers to the same standard and expectations. We are very sorry that you fell this is not the experience that you had, and welcome feedback so we may turn our opportunities into strengths. We appreciate you sharing your voice with us.

We appreciate your thoughtful review. With Teamwork being one of our three core values, it's great to hear that you are enjoying the collaborative and team-oriented atmosphere. We are also glad to hear that you feel supported in your career development. Our Career Framework was developed to give our clinical teams access to opportunities in whichever direction they choose to grow. We combine training and mentorship with on the job experience to develop well rounded individuals. MedVet is an independently owned organization that continues to grow our current team members and provide career opportunities as skills and experience are learned. The last few years a lot of work and effort has been put into analyzing job descriptions, role assignment, and fair pay within each geographic area. We are constantly re-evaluating these items and making adjustments where needed. We have made huge improvements in various areas and it has been exciting to share these improvements with our current team members. MedVet continues to be committed to developing and maintaining a culture of wellbeing within our hospitals. Communication continues to be a goal we work on and is our focus for our Employee Experience in 2022. Communication is truly a team-effort from leaders to the broader hospital and between our clinical departments that needs work from all sides. We encourage any concerned team members to reach out to their HR Partner, Clinical Manager or Hospital Director for further discussion. Again, thank you for your feedback.
