Pros

Making connections with co-workers and patients.

Cons

-No room for growth; you'll express interest in a management and then upper management will ask you your opinion on someone else entering the role. -Management having no idea what they're talking about during check-ins and one-on-ones because they don't work with you directly. -High high high turnover rate. -Little pay for the amount of work to be done. -Doctor's can be cruel and will make up lies about you because they don't personally like you. -There was an instance where a manager was being incredibly inappropriate with an employee outside of work, he was just moved to a different department and not fired for his disgusting behavior.

On Behalf of Hospital Director: We are very sorry to hear you are unhappy with your experience! MedVet Chicago fosters and encourages a culture of teamwork, compassion, and empathy. If team members feel uncomfortable in any situation, local management, our HR partner, and regional management are always available and interested in understanding these issues and working on a resolution. We take our team member satisfaction and engagement seriously. We work hard to ensure our team members are healthy and happy and are always looking for new and better ways we can improve this experience. We encourage and welcome thoughts, suggestions, and ideas from team members. The last few years a lot of work and effort has been put into analyzing job descriptions, role assignment, and fair pay within our geographic area. We are excited to have introduced the clinical supervisor role to our hospital to better support our teams. These team members work directly with their teams to support them and manage the shift. We appreciate hearing your voice and continue striving to be veterinary specialty's employer of choice.

Great Pay

Pros

The rate of pay is the highest in the area

Cons

Severely understaffed for their current caseload. A lot of employees seem to call out for their shifts, although that’s not the company’s fault they should adjust their case intake accordingly. There also isn’t much training for new employees, it’s pretty much a sink or swim environment.

Thank you for providing your feedback. We understand that we're in a very unique time in the Veterinary profession. We also recognize that our environment is fast paced and growing, especially the past couple of years. Recruitment has been and will always be a priority. We are actively recruiting and hiring new team members to bring some lift to our amazing teams. MedVet takes training and onboarding seriously and we will continue to invest significant time and resources in order to ensure all new caregivers are trained thoroughly and equipped for success. Although training periods vary depending on each situation, standard training for full time team members is a minimum of 4-6 weeks and can always be extended when needed. We are sorry to hear that you have not had the same experience as a Contingent team member and would love to discuss your concerns with you further. We encourage you to connect with you local HR Partner, Clinical Manager or Hospital Director to discuss training parameters and how we can better partner with you to ensure we get this resolved. Thank you for sharing your voice.
