Pros

I've worked for a couple of web hosting companies now and Media Temple is by far the best. Yes, the company is now owned by GoDaddy (purchased in 2013). No, that hasn't meant the end of a great company culture. I wasn't here prior to the purchase, but in my opinion, GD has proven to be a reasonable corporate overlord that has added to MT's resources. - The people are great - My managers have been engaged and easy to communicate with - Company events are fun - I feel like my opinion generally matters. - Great benefits package. - Many positions have options for working remotely either partially or full time.

Cons

- Training is really solid and ongoing, but customer service agents must learn a wide range of technical products very quickly to be effective. Ideally, initial training for new agents would be extended at least a week.

As for the note on training: We will make sure that this is evaluated moving forward as we do want to make sure that employees have the resources they need to do their jobs effectively and work fearlessly.

Pros

GREAT benefits. Cool tech environment with a pool table, ping pong table etc. Large snack bar with good beer.

Cons

The commute can be rough depending on when you drive in. The environment is a bit uncomfortable and impersonal.

Hi there! Glad you like the snack wall and the beer selection. Our open office layout can take some time getting used to but we hope that being out in the open fosters better collaboration. As for the design and soft seating, it is still in the works, so more to come there. Keep the feedback coming and thanks again!

A Mix of Startup and Corporate

Pros

The atmosphere and environment - feels like a startup with lots of perks: foosball, pool table, ping pong table, stocked fridge, lots of snacks on the shelf. The vibe that you get is that people are laid back and easy going, but will get down to business when it's time to do so. Benefits are competitive, and company is large enough to offer enough lateral opportunities. Although GoDaddy acquired Media Temple in 2013, it appears that Media Temple was able to retain a good degree of autonomy and self governance.

Cons

As a new employee, my outlook may be slightly overly rosy due to still being in the honeymoon period. There also seems to be some uneasiness over the GoDaddy transition, which I was not around to witness. From my perspective, however, Media Temple is still a great place to work at.
