Pros

Great engineers, while they’re still there. Interesting technical product. Well-meaning product team.

Cons

Dysfunctional product incentives lead to ever-increasing amounts of tech debt. Engineering teams shrink and don’t get back filled (combination of leadership and slow hiring process).

Legitimately good product, deep expertise in the industry, smart sales (which is a rarity in ad tech)

Cons

MediaMath used to be a beacon of hope in the ad tech world, now literally nobody talks about them (outside of the walls of MediaMath that is)... mostly due to the wrong people being elevated to positions where they can’t do anything except rub elbows with the right people. Naked emperors everywhere at the VP level. A ton of trash talking because insecure people know they can’t do the job and force competent people out. Luckily, most of the people forced out in this way have found MUCH better jobs at much better companies. Unfortunately, this has led to the imminent demise of a once great company.
