Low expectations of employees, generous benefits, relaxed work environment.

Cons

Bad Pay. All of the motivated employees have left. Company will not make necessary investments for long term success. They are stuck at a dead end with their proprietary technology stack and will not make structural changes to resolve it. Private owners are only concerned with extracting cash over the short term. Company is heading for a very long slow death spiral in such a slow, inertial market as hospital software.

Pros

They promote from within. The benefits are good. Lots of the employees are having children or adopting. Good company for lifers, assuming the company is a good fit for them.

Cons

Last I knew they were using proprietary programming languages. For programmers, salaries are low. You have to be good at your current job to transfer to a different job. The company culture is different than I had experienced before; it's hard to describe the difference.
