Toxic Management in Implementation
Pros
I really liked half of the team. The other half was stuck up or flat out stupid and it was frustrating to be paid the same (HOURLY) rate as them. The building is very nice- they have a lot of amenities but my group never got to use them (walking desks, games, collaboration areas) because we were hourly (thanks college degree) and had crappy desktops (is it not 2018?!). My excel skills got really good and I have been able to utilize that skill in my current role.
Cons
I had one great supervisor who left (because everyone leaves this group because of unrealistic expectations and crippling stress) and the director went from being the nicest person ever to a straight up moody b in a matter of seconds. It was hard when I would vocalize my need for help only to be told that "this was my job" and I needed to just get it done. I was coming in at 6 am and leaving at 6 pm but could never have more than a certain amount of overtime without approval (which you were put through the ringer to get approved). I worked off the clock for hundreds of hours because I was scared of not getting my work done because what the group does is actually very important. I was given much more responsibility than some of the others on the team and was paid exactly the same despite having years of professional experience.
