Pros

Bonding with coworkers over terrible management and company deception

"There will be a raise after you are finished training"... Training program is 6 months long... "You aren't considered fully trained until you have worked 2 years." Coronavirus response was to send half the office home one week, and the second half home the next week... aka inconvenience everyone while putting everyone at risk. No monitoring visits were to be cancelled unless expressly prohibited by the government. Company issued statement says word for word "Medpace continues to operate as business as usual". You are, and will feel, like nothing more than a means for the company to profit. Medpace is a wage cage. Training program is unnecessarily complicated, uninformative, and overly stressful. Avoid if you can.

Medpace provides ongoing training for our CRAs through our PACE (Professionals Achieving CRA Excellence) program. This is highly valued in our organization due to the collaboration it provides between our CRAs and management. We understand that in the first 2 years employees spend more time learning the business/industry than out in the field, and this is for a reason. We take pride in the quality of monitoring we provide at the sites and feel it’s important for employees to gain an understanding of the other roles we have at Medpace through the rotation prior to working on-site. In regard to the recent outbreak of COVID-19, this global pandemic is new to all of us. We are navigating as best as we can and assure you we are taking this very seriously. We are complying with CDC guidelines of social distancing in the organization, extra cleaning services regularly throughout the building, and are allowing employees to work from home (on a staggered schedule) every other week to ensure we help stop the spread. Employees with special circumstances are welcome to reach out to us and we will accommodate as necessary. As a healthcare company, we recognize the severity of the virus which is why we are following all guidance given by the CDC and state of Ohio. We also recognize the importance of the clinical trials we are currently running and the need to continue to fight all disease and continue our mission to accelerate the global development of safe and effective medical therapeutics. Our hope is to maintain full employment and to be prepared once this crisis passes. Should you have any specific concerns, we ask that you reach out to your HR Representative directly to discuss and ensure you feel safe.

Pros

I’ve worked for Medpace since 2015. Throughout my time so far I’ve gotten several raises and promotions, as well as opportunities to develop my skills within the role and take on new challenges. I did not have any experience in clinical research when I started at Medpace, and I feel I’ve learned the skills for a lifetime career in this field. Training materials are great and management has been an available resource when needed without feeling like being micromanaged. I highly recommend Medpace

Cons

Work/life balance can be tricky with the amount of travel. However, once you are a Lead CRA or have seniority, you have more input with the locations of your sites.

I would strongly advise against working at Medpace or engaging with them as a partner. My experience at this company was nothing short of disastrous, Leadership (mostly CEO) is incredibly out of touch with the reality of day to day operations. There's a serious lack of communication and transparency from the top down. Instead of fostering an open and collaborative culture. they cultivate a climate of fear and micromanagement. The executive team seems more concerned with their own self-interest than the well-being of employees or the company as a whole. As for the work environment, it's toxic/ The pressure to constantly perform at unrealistic levels creates an atmosphere of stress and burnout. Management doesn't seem to care about employee retention or work life balance. Instead they expect you to grind endlessly with little regard for personal well being. Medpace is a company that lacks employee respect, has poor leadership, and fosters a toxic, high pressure environment. I wouldn't trust them with any more of my career than I already have. Stay far away if you value your well being and integrity.
