Pros

Great new Dallas office and detailed training program with great mentors.

Cons

All white company. Overworked and underpaid. No home-based work option until 1 year or 8 site days per month. Some employees that were there over 2 years still never got to be home-based.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear you enjoy our newly renovated office in Dallas and the wonderful training programs we have in place. We take great pride in the PACE training program for new CRAs and have received wonderful feedback from sponsors. We are very taken back about your comments on diversity. We are extremely proud of the diverse culture we promote here at Medpace. We value employees from all different backgrounds and believe that contributes to much of our success. Medpace has allowed remote work where we feel remote work is possible. We have not offered widespread remote work in the past, as we feel our work is conducted more efficiently and collaboratively from the office environment. Once the pandemic is over and we are no longer on staggered every other week in office schedules, we plan to maintain elements of regular work from home flexibility in most of our positions and locations. This positive change was just recently announced to our employees and as anticipated has been positively received. Medpace was clearly not a fit for you, but we wish you well in your future endeavors.

Pros

-Free stuff like coffee machines and soda fountains. -Gave employees free kinda-OK-quality salad-bar lunches before Covid, they'll likely bring it back once Covid is gone. They also bring in some nice food trucks. -There's a gym which, again, is likely to come back after Covid goes away. -It sounds like they hire a lot of recent college grads. I suppose you could use a Medpace job to get work experience, although the non-compete could put a stop to that in some cases. -The community I was part of was generally really nice, including the manager up until about eight months ago. I honestly wished I could say goodbye to them properly (with the exception of the aforementioned manager). They deserve better than Medpace.

Cons

-Their internal software is obtuse to the point of being unusable- no tooltips, no help screens, often requires several clicks just to get to the next screen, and I don't even think there was a manual for it until midway through my first year at Medpace. Not that the manual helped that much- it didn't explain many of the more complex aspects of the software. You basically need someone to show you the process to do anything in their internal software at all. I'd have loved to suggest and even implement improvements like this, but by that time Medpace management had stopped listening to a word I said. -Around the time Covid hit, they did an incredibly poor job of delegating work. Previously, I had been well informed of what I was expected to do, and I had a decent amount of programming to work on, and internal software projects when I didn't have programming. Then Covid hit and there were month-long periods where I didn't get anything to do at all. I had to come up with ways to contribute on my own (for all the good that did me.) -In 2019, they had two performance reviews a year, and I received feedback that was helpful. In 2020, they supposedly still did have those performance reviews, but I never got any of them. -I've read other Glassdoor reviews about random firings, and I see what they're talking about. Not only did I get fired, they arranged it to look like I was "underperforming"- presumably so they could legally refuse to give me a severance package. I admit there were issues with my work in the past, but I honestly thought they had been resolved, and even then, I don't know how "proactively creating an internal application that could save loads of time" could be considered "underperforming" by any logical measure. This happened in a meeting with HR that was initiated while I was working remotely, in the middle of the day, without warning. I did not get any time to properly transfer what I was working on to other parties or even so much as say goodbye to my coworkers. I suppose the only logical explanation is that neither Medpace's HR team nor Medpace's management care at all about their employees. -It took Covid to get Medpace to even consider remote work. Remote work every other week was allowed for certain staff when Covid hit, but this is likely not to be permanent. Apparently this staunch refusal to implement remote work options is to promote "company culture", I believe that's how they put it. Well, that didn't really turn out to be worth it, now did it? -They make you sign a one-year non-compete, no matter what you're signing up to do. It's a minor annoyance for those outside the medical field, and potentially disastrous for people who want to work with a better CRA. I don't know how litigious they are about it, or if any court actually would take such an ill-conceived contract seriously.

Thank you for leaving a review. Medpace management welcomes system feedback from employees and strives to implement improvements suggested by employees when possible. Throughout the pandemic, the company made concerted efforts to manage employees and the changing workload as best we could and guide employees through the changing environment of remote and office based work. Performance concerns are communicated to employees to allow opportunity for improvement and it seems performance concerns had been previously communicated in the example given above. We recognize accepting underperformance can be difficult, but we assure you Medpace has not fabricated concerns about an employee's performance for any reason. Finally, Medpace has allowed remote work where we feel remote work is possible. We have not offered widespread remote work in the past, as we feel our work is conducted more efficiently and collaboratively from the office environment. Once the pandemic is over we are no longer on staggered every other week in office schedules we plan to maintain elements of regular work from home flexibility in most of our positions and locations. This positive change was just recently announced to our employees and as anticipated has been positively received. It is apparent Medpace was not a fit for you, but we wish you well in your future endeavors.

Pros

A great way to get some job experience, great coworkers, mid level management will work with you to keep you challenged & is open to feedback.

Cons

High workload, high achievers will continue to be thrown additional work with no increase in pay or title unless they meet minimum length of tenure requirements for promotions. I’ve seen lots of trained, high achievers leave Medpace due to not being promoted as quickly as they should per their skill set & performance. Dumb Covid policy forcing many personnel to work in office. Poor HR & upper level management treatment of employees

Thank you for your feedback! We are glad to hear you enjoyed your coworkers and job experienced you gained. We apologize for any confusion surrounding promotional opportunities. All promotions are based upon minimum eligibility requirements as well as performance standards. Experience in role is a factor of course but individual performance is a priority as well. We encourage all employees to review these standards with their manager, as they are a valuable resource with regard to any questions associates have about their promotional opportunities. We are not entirely sure where you have gotten the information that employees are forced to work in office during COVID. We are navigating as best as we can with COVID-19 and assure you we are taking this very seriously. We are complying with CDC guidelines of social distancing in the organization, extra cleaning services regularly throughout the building, and are allowing employees to work from home (on a staggered schedule) every other week to ensure we help stop the spread. Employees with special circumstances are welcome to reach out to us and we will accommodate as necessary. Hourly employees have been given sick time during this crisis to ensure they feel safe and have plenty of time to take off if needed. As a healthcare company, we recognize the severity of the virus which is why we are following all guidance given by the CDC and state of Ohio. And as an essential component of the drug development process we have elements of our that must be in person – at least on a partial basis. We encourage you to reach out to your HR Representative to discuss in more detail. Thank you.
