Pros

They hire right out of college with little to no experience, making getting into the workforce pretty easy. I'm thankful that I was able to learn a lot about the industry and also made great friends with my coworkers (despite the introverted nature of the job). Base pay and PTO are pretty good and hours are flexible. They are very sensitive about overtime pay, so work-life balance is basically enforced.

Cons

If you read a majority of the reviews it'll all say the same things that held true while I was there: unsupportive upper management, treating hourly data coordinators as "lesser than" when the COVID-19 pandemic hit (they made us work in-office while the rest of the company that was salaried were able to work staggered). I was discriminated against and treated poorly compared to others on my team, and then quickly gotten rid of when I spoke out about it. Your manager will make or break your ability to grow in your position and learn, so if you choose to join this company I pray you get an understanding and nurturing one.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re very happy to hear you enjoyed your experience at Medpace and the opportunities you were given to learn and grow within the department. We pride ourselves in hiring individuals with limited experience and giving them proper training to grow within the industry. We value our employees equally, and take claims of a hostile work environment very seriously at Medpace. Each claim of this nature is investigated and appropriate action is taken when warranted. Nice work on quoting our responses! ;-) We listen to our employees but acknowledge that the resolution an individual employee seeks is not always the best answer for their co-workers or the company as a whole. On this note, we did have to make some difficult decisions surrounding the pandemic. COVID-19 has been and continues to be very uncertain. Although we had maintained our full workforce with full pay for the initial weeks of the various lockdowns, despite the fact that many of our positions cannot be performed if our campus is not open, unfortunately this is not a sustainable long-term option. Many of our hourly positions cannot be effectively and efficiently performed remotely and as an essential business operating in the pharmaceutical industry it was important to maintain operations as best we can. It was a very difficult decision to release some of our on-campus staff, and we hope that the severance packages offered to them will help in part to sustain during a difficult economic time for everyone. We are starting to operate “business as usual” and are confident we will be able to continue our growth as the year continues. Should there every be concerns with management, we encourage all employees to come to HR and discuss in more detail. We wish you luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

Friendly people. Flexible hours 40 hours sick hours to use a few floating holidays great place to gain experience right out of college if you want to pursue a career in clinical research

Cons

Boss is usually hard to get in contact with. Usually out of the office for a couple hours. Low pay! If you leave, you end up paying for PTO.!!! Make too many promises and don't follow through. I did not give 30 day notice. I gave the regular 2 weeks. I had to call HR asking where my last check was. They said I didn't get paid anything because I didn't give my 30 day notice and had to pay for my PTO. I asked them an amount and I didn't get a response. They informed me they took the amount out of my 401K contributions! HR informed me that my supervisor and exit interview rep should have told me the amount I owed the company . Neither person informed me! This company screwed me and many other people over. The turnaround is very very very high. not many people stay more than 1 year. They pay their employees very low and will not increase wages. At each town hall meeting, the salary always comes up and they continue to tell everyone they can't do anything about it. Instead, they'd rather waste their money on getting the building renovated. Getting cool office supplies and planning paint nights in the office and getting a large variety of drinks and snacks. We don't need all that crap, and the company wastes their money on things.

Pros

Will hire new grads with no experience Teams work hard and are supportive

Cons

Morale has been quite terrible lately due to denied promotions/raises in the last year and recent changes in our work from home policies. Upper management has blamed inflation and parking issues in Cincinnati for these changes, which really is just confusing and a little insulting. I am most disappointed with the poor communication surrounding the new return to office policy. Two weeks is not enough time to adjust to the reduced flexibility, and this abrupt change will cause unnecessary stress for families that were not expecting to lose work from home. This transition could have been handled much better. While I love my team and the people I work with, decisions made by upper management (abrupt return to office, exit badge swipes, firing over WFH non-compliance), lackluster benefits (no paid parental leave, high deductible insurance, three-year vesting timeline for 401K), and the non-competes (preventing employees from leaving an unsupportive environment) have left a bad taste in my mouth. I am not confident that upper management is leading the company in the right direction.

We are saddened by your view of Medpace. As with many large companies, Medpace uses an access control system for the safety and security of our associates, and we do require associates to use company issued identification while on campus. In addition, as Medpace is in a highly regulated industry, we hold our employees to the highest level of compliance with all Medpace policies. Failure to comply with Medpace policy, for example, the Remote Work Policy, may impact eligibility for discretionary bonus, merit, promotion, or employment. Finally, while we have made recent changes to our remote work policy in support of our culture of in-office collaboration, we believe this still provides opportunities for associates to work from home on occassion when personal flexibility is needed.
