Thank you for leaving a review. We are so glad to hear you have had a positive experience with Medpace. In regard to your comment about work flexibility during COVID, we believe we have been very accommodating to employees. We are navigating as best as we can with COVID-19 and assure you we are taking this very seriously. We are allowing employees to work from home (on a staggered schedule) every other week to reduce on campus density and ensure we help stop the spread. Employees with special circumstances are welcome to reach out to us and we will accommodate as necessary. Hourly employees have been given sick time during this crisis to ensure they feel safe and have plenty of time to take off if needed. As a healthcare company, we recognize the severity of the virus which is why we are following all guidance given by the CDC and state of Ohio. And as an essential component of the drug development process we have elements of workforce that must be in person – at least on a partial basis. We encourage you to reach out to your HR Representative to discuss in more detail. Thank you!

Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear you are enjoying Medpace and satisfied with the compensation and benefits package we offer. We are very proud of the culture we provide here at the organization, and we believe our office-based model promotes a collaborative environment to ensure our employees and sponsors feel heard and valued. By allowing our employees to utilize “flex time”, we still give them the ability to have a flexible schedule that encourages a well-balanced work/home life. We are pleased to have very recently announced an enhancement to our flexible work model which will allow employees to choose to work from home several days and month and which will take effect when we are no longer following our current every other week in office staggered schedule. We encourage you to speak directly to your HR rep should you have any concerns with management. We appreciate your input and thank you for leaving a review.

Pros

Decent introduction to industry for fresh graduates.

Cons

1. Culture is fear driven. I understand the need for a quiet work space but threatening to fire employees coz they are talking....a collaborative culture is built on occasional conversations with colleagues both formal and informal. It's not high school. The lack of trust that employees will get their work done unless they are quietly seated at their desk all the time feeds into the fear culture. 2. Plays favorites and not transparent. Management would offer perks like flexing hours and work from home to favorites. example if a department does not support work from home, it should not for all employees but if they give it to one, then be transparent as to why that ONE person deserves it and not others. Situations are varied and cannot prioritize someone's want to move states over another's need to maybe reduce commute time to take care of an elderly parent. Also, I received a bonus and was asked to be quiet about it in the email...i.e. lack of transparency. Just be open and clear. Despite having same qualifications, I found out a counterpart made 25k more than me in the same role, same experience years and I outrightly out performed him. 3. Toxic almost discriminatory culture. The biostats department lacks diversity and is full of nepotism with almost 60% being married to each other and all immigrants from ONE country. They do not speak English in the office including in some meetings leaving English speakers out of the loop on meeting ongoings. 4. Lack of growth opportunities/feedback. Their review process was "everyone gets a blanket C for Competence" and it is not individualized on one's strenghts and weaknesses so there is no opportunity to discuss growth points. One is lucky if you meet with your manager for a review. I think go in, get your experience, learn as much as you can and get out. It is not reflective of industry cultures as one makes contacts in other companies you learn what a good company.

Thank you for your feedback. We are surprised by some of the comments given in this review. We are sorry to hear you feel there is negativity within the organization; however, we work hard to ensure we are place that attracts employees not just for the short term, but are a place that our associates can grow in their career. We are extremely proud of the diverse culture we promote here at Medpace. We value employees from all different backgrounds and believe that contributes to much of our success. In regards to “flex time”, this is a benefit for which employees in the Cincinnati office are eligible; however, it’s true that every department operates a bit differently depending on the needs and current demands of the department. For example, not everyone in the same group can flex on a Friday afternoon and still meet the needs of the company. We encourage employees to speak to their supervisor about this directly to get some more clarification. Our HR department strives to serve the employees of the organization and provide a collaborative environment where they can continue to grow and thrive within the organization. Any issues brought to HR are prioritized accordingly. More specifically, they are all reviewed, and then escalated as necessary. We are always willing to address specific concerns, and also make it clear that we will escalate depending on the specific concern, but that in addition to advocating for individuals, HR and Management considers the best interests of employees collectively as well as the organization as a whole. It seems that Medpace was not the best fit for you, but we wish you well in your future career.
