Pros

Young corporate culture, many free perks (e.g. workout classes, gym, lunch), newer office building, training program for CRA's new to the industry.

Cons

They are a very manipulative and back-stabbing company, they convince you that you will be hired as a new CRA and complete their training with plenty of work to be completed, but that is not the case. Upper management does not value newer employees or those lower on the totem pole. It's unfortunate that I accepted a job here. If you want long term employment do not apply here!

Pros

The company is well organized in terms of documentation of their policies and guidelines as well as their processes. Decent training programs for new CRAs.

Cons

There were too many expectations in regards to the number and type of protocols that one could manage. There was somewhat of a disconnect between the core management in terms of administration of personnel and the actual balance/needs of personnel needed for the workload depending on the number and type of clinical trials.

Pros

Training program for entry-level associates - not the best training program, but it'll work to get you what you need to start off. It's certainly easy enough to get through and several people have slipped through the cracks over time. Having said this, if you have a fair bit of competence then you'll be fine - if you don't, you'll probably be fine. The people of the company can be incredible. The only reason I've stayed as long as I have. This company is nothing more than a leaping platform for your career. You may be fortunate enough to get on the right side of the ladder, but that'll require you to be submissive and malleable. These are the most objective words I can find in all honesty. All in all, it's a good starting company, but if you have any sense of self, intelligence, and a desire to flourish in an industry where the sky is the limit, then this company is not for you. I can not emphasize intelligence enough. There are plenty of smart people in this company, but these people are not located within the Clinical Operations unit.

Cons

A company who's trajectory appears to be trending up, but upon closer examination shows significant issues within its infrastructure. You will not have much to do after your training process, but then it will pick up. Eventually you'll be spread so thin that you'll forget where you live. This is not so much an issue as it's a prevalent aspect of CRA life. The biggest issue is that you're working hard for effectively no reason. There is no such thing as working hard and getting ahead in this company. You can receive the highest of praises from all of your direct reports - the same reports that disseminate their praises to your direct supervisor - but it will not yield you anything in the way of progress. If you stick around past two years you will understand. For a good while it will be great, and everything will seem surreal. Time will prove that your chances of progress are low unless you're willing to be a puppeteer - and even that is based on chance.

Pros

Great for getting into the industry if you have no previous experience. The training program is nice and does prepare you well for the job. The Cincinnati office if beautiful with spacious cubicles, free lunch ( usually just a salad bar), onsite gym and free workout classes. Younger demographic for new hire CRAs which makes forming friendships with coworkers a lot easier. Overall I would recommend this to someone trying to break into the industry, but if you have 3+ years of experience I would look somewhere else.

Cons

Can be very "clicky" especially with CRA managers and upper management. Many promotions/opportunities were given to less qualified Employees because they weren't BFF with their manager. The work load and travel can be overwhelming. There are CRAs who are working 70+ hours a week and fell like they are drowning while lots of CRAs sit in office without much to do. There needs to be more attention to work distribution and not just saying to the overworked CRA "there are highs and lows and this is just a high so deal with it." This is not just the CRA manager's way of thinking, even the CEO responded in a similar way to a CRA saying how she traveled on Sunday's and didn't get home till after midnight on Friday, he essentially said "that's the job so if you don't like it quit!" Ha great way to respond to your employees legitimate concerns. The company will continue to lose great CRAs due to the workload if nothing changes. Starting salary for a CRA is well below standard but once you get to 1.5-2year with the company you will earn closer to that standard.

Pros

Great training program, very involved in the community, younger staff which makes interactions and work life great, fairly strong travel bonus package

Cons

Lack of transparency to employees regarding both the business as a whole and the employees own status within the company (promotions and overall performance compared to your counter-parts)

Pros

New office, generous travel policy, face to face familiarity with staff in most applicable departments, CRA training program is thorough and accessible even for those with no CRO experience.

Cons

Compensation significantly lower than industry standard even including travel bonus, travel bonus based on several stipulations - have seen several CRAs fired just before travel bonus distribution time for vague reasons, home office for CRAs only an option after 1 year but still must attend in-office meetings on average 2-3 days/month, not uncommon to be on 2-3 studies with 15+ sites as an experienced CRA as there are many trained, inexperienced CRAs hanging around the office that sponsors will not allow to work on their studies. Management circle is small and can be very one-sided. Non-compete agreement is used as a scare tactic.

Pros

Great training program and many young professionals.

Cons

Medpace continues to hire new CRAs while their current CRAs sit at their desks for months waiting to be assigned a study. If you are someone who likes to sit at a desk day after day while trying to find things to do to fill your time (management suggests going back through training because they have nothing else to preoccupy you), then this job is for you.

Horrible culture, terrible pay and cannot work for any CRO for a year after termination!
