Pros

Some camaraderie and fellowship exists among rank and file . . .

Cons

. . . but that camaraderie and fellowship are undermined by "differentiation." • Gospel of author and former GE CEO Jack Welch followed insofar as it empowers directors to carry out their personal agendas with no repercussions • "Cultivate the strong and cull the weak" (Welch's words) can only take place when an organization can effectively identify the strong and the weak; Melaleuca does a terrible job of doing that and rankings are a popularity contest • No women in executive leadership • No minorities in executive leadership • Right-wing political propaganda at mandatory company meetings • Non-LDS at disadvantage for advancement

Pros

The biggest perk the company has to offer is schedule flexibility for higher grade employees.

Cons

Melaleuca lacks leadership from upper management and employs what can only be described as aggressive micromanaging as a management style with lower level managers. Very direspectful of employees, paying educated employees a near minimum wage salary and constantly targeting people to make an example out of. Career development is severely lacking, as there is no training program or opportunities to further education, and it's nearly impossible to get promoted if working in certain categories. Overall, highly frustrating experience for substandard wage.

Pros

The people on the teams really work well together. People genuinely want to help one another and the company in general. The benefits for the area are fairly competitive. I feel like everyone is given the opportunity to grow and shine. Lateral and vertical movement in your career is very possible and encouraged in order to help individuals and the company benefit and grow.

Cons

Receiving commensurate raises for internal promotions is not the norm. When promotion raises do occur it is only after a very long (months) and painful process.
