Good exposure to research but thankless work for little pay
Pros
You'll definitely get hands-on research experience, similar to that of a research-oriented masters program.
Cons
Clinical research coordinators are undervalued and undercompensated. If you're in this role, know that you will do most of the work for a study (or multiple studies) and get little to no praise or recognition. Most PIs are concerned only with their study accrual numbers and getting their next grant. Burnout is possible in this position. This position is largely seen as a stepping stone to getting into a Masters or PhD program. If that's not one of your goals, I would advise against going this route. However, if you are really inspired by the mission, you might enjoy it. If you are detail-oriented, hyper-organized, self-motivated and prefer behind-the-scenes work you might like this job but only for a year or two.
