Pros

The mission of the Founder and CEO George Zimmer runs parallel to mine. It's simple, to provide outstanding customer service, while maximizing sales and maintaining our values. That sums it up! This is the best company that I have ever worked for. The message and mission from George is the very reason why I am with the company and have continued to stay with this company. George cares! He demonstates it year after year and has the best sales training in the the industry. I feel that overall the company understands the business and provides top notch customer service. No other company compares!

Cons

Once upon a time, The Men's Wearhouse did care, but seems to have lost its way since the economic downturn. I understand that times are tough and their are things that need to be done to be competetive in the industry, but our Regional Management Team is running this company like a circus show. One minute they tell you to focus on Personal Best, the next they verbally rip you apart for not performing the numbers they want to satisfy their unrealistic expectations. It would be nice if some of the Regionals actually worked in a store for more than a half hour and practiced what they preached. They honestly think that we have time send emails every five minutes and manage reports. The tuxedo business has brought great challenges to the stores. It is a crazy balancing act. I would be greatly appreciated if Regionals would let you focus on the customers in the store and make a positive impact rather than grilling you for not sending out weekly reports that they don't even look at. They tell you it's for awareness! I am aware that it is pointless!! We do a great job in our store and my team is wonderful. Yes, everyone says that, but seriously, customers love how we treat them, I will not stop putting the customer first, no matter what report my regional wants.

Pros

opportunity to provide great customer service, quality product, coworkers are like family

Cons

constant barrage of negativity from regional manager, veiled threats to job (we are in an "at will" state, so we can be fired w/o reason), rm wants documentation of everything

Pros

Decentt benefits, Holiday party, employee discount. Low key atmospher in the store most of the time. Little busy work to be done between customers.

Cons

Store and multi-unit managers had generally unprofessional demeanors at the unit I worked at, childish behavior on part of mgrs encouraged by other managers. Little meaningful ongoing training beyond 2 days intro and 1-1/2 day "Suits High" training session. My store manager actually said he didn't want me to discuss/brief him on my sales presentations and showed little interest in my progress, Salespeople put into mgmt positions based on their sales numbers alone - not on their management/prople skills -- which is always a recipe for disaster, IMO.
