Pros

Profit sharing, Mgr bonuses, Good environment. great people. plenty of overtime and opportunities if you are a hard worker.

Cons

once you become a manager they work you 50 to 60 hours a week. a lot of the policies and procedures from corporate don't make any sense. (they can fire you for being late from lunch even when you were helping customers on your way back in) absolutely no benefits. very expensive health insurance and only able to take one week vacation at a time.

Pros

Decent pay, not the best but not worst. Some coworkers are motivating and easygoing, others make me miss factory work.

Cons

Managers like to keep you past end of shift and store close, asked me to quit college for work. Get told I can't take lunches unless the area has no one in it and there's no one else from my department (usually 15+ people) on a break. Got 2 write ups for my car breaking down and not being able to make it to work, and was also told I couldnt miss the day when my car broke down in the parking lot. Managers like to make lude comments on the radio, which 9 times out of 10 there's a guest that can hear what is being said. Company is all about making money, even if that means yanking someone around for an hour because we don't have what they want but want them to buy things anyway. We close at 10, and every night when 10 hits I usually say "okay 1 more hour until we can go home!" Because it's usually true. Even when my entire department is clear, they keep us over to do the morning stockers jobs. Finally, for some god awful reason, when the department has 30+ employees managers find it a good idea to schedule 10-15 employees for the course of the day, to cover 8 areas of the entire department, which is about half the size of the store.
