Pros

$2.50 an hour more on weekends, Possibility for overtime hours, profit sharing yearly bonus possibility if you meet certain criteria

Cons

Outrageously micromanaging, will fire employees for no reason, will write you up with little or no grounds for disciplinary action, terrible company culture, negative atmosphere, non-competitive pay, overbearing, unrealistic expectations from store general management and corporate office, questionable ethics, company promotes lying to and manipulating employees, company allows customers to harass employees with no accountability or law enforcement intervention, company demands you stay after your scheduled shift during nightly close or you get reprimanded, company engages in unethical and seemingly illegal employee treatment and business actions toward vendor products and merchandise unbeknownst to vendors, 10-15 years behind other companies in terms of inventory/technology/order tracking and order maintenance capabilities, about 30 years behind in training methods compared to other companies, terrible training, HR coordinators know little about actual store function, very "dictator" type atmosphere, next to no benefits package, almost no vacation time unless you've been there for numerous years, no paid sick days, doctors note required to miss a day of work or you get written up, overly sales focused

Pros

If you like selling tools, you may enjoy this job, the starting pay is good if you're in high school of college.

Cons

There's a high turnover because they don't care who or why they fire people if they are not a store favorite or full time. They are little about part time employees and make you work more than what your job title says. For example instead of hiring actual painters, managers made morning stockers paint the entire beam work of the garden center. On top of that the ALWAYS expect you to stay longer than you need. Why should you feel bad asking to leave at 1pm when you're scheduled till 9am? The management only cares about sales, your feelings are irrelevant and I was glad to leave when I was wrongfully "fired"
