Pros

Flexible schedule, intellectual capital, intelligent and highly capable senior colleagues. Great as an initial job - Mercer is a widely recognized name. Also if applying as an analyst or senior analyst, you most likely will be overtime eligible.

Cons

Long hours, poor compensation (for everyone except analysts and senior analysts who are now overtime eligible), not everyone is above average in the work they do but, sometimes, that doesn't seem as a factor taken into consideration in terms of compensation or promotions. If you are good at what you do, they'll attempt to overwork you unless you put your foot down and say no. But on the flipside, saying no will count against you.

Pros

They have some wonderful people (if you are lucky enough to find your way to them) who really cares about your personal and professional growth

Cons

Toxic culture. Respect is what they tout but definitely confined to their advertisement on website. If you were there 10 years ago, you will know the company has degenerated to beyond recognition. Different set of people running the show now. Morale down after sending valuation work to India.

Pros

If you are willing to work hard, you can find many opportunities. The willingness to accept change is critical as the firm grows. Mercer is likley going to grow significantly over the next 3 years, and with growth comes new job opportunities and challanges.

Cons

Mercer (our parent company MMC really...) approaches management and HR at a global level without understanding the unique challanges of each operating company. This can create challenges as each may have differing business/management needs.
