Pros

Benefits offered were good, good hours, stable job, casual environment, always busy

Cons

Pay was a little low considering how much work you put into each claim, kind of a stressful environment as people are not in the best moods after car accidents especially if things don't go in their favor. My biggest thing was that I did not feel as though I was trained effectively enough, yet had a lot of control over things - Therefore, if I did something wrong or incorrect, I could end up costing the company money. It's kind of a learn as you go type of job.

Pros

There are a lot of good hardworking individuals in the claims branches including claim representatives; Supervisors and Managers. Holiday bonus was always a nice gesture.

Cons

Human Capital ( formerly Human Resources) are unresponsive and slow to act when they do respond. There is a complete lack of essential training offered to Claims employees ie the fact that the company is still struggling with working the new claims system deployed 7/20/15 is proof. Senior Claims Leadership is in over their head and continually make poor decisions which affects the front line employees. IE the company is looking to hire an additional 117 claim representatives before the end of the year. Yet Sr. Claims Leadership since 7/20/15 has allowed hardworking employees leave and chose not to replace them which increased the workload for the remaining employees. The best career move I could ever make was to leave Mercury. My only regret is that I did not make the change sooner.

Pros

Christmas bonus, medical benefits, friends

Cons

I used to enjoy working for the company back when I started over 10 years ago. Now, I am just embarassed that I did. Within the last few years, the company has gone through many changes such as new leadership team and computer system. With the changes came growing pains. Employees became overworked due to insufficient staffing and unmanageable workload. In addition, new policies and procedures were implemented that doesn't make sense. Employees were constantly micromanaged and their autonomy were taken away. I've worked here over 10 yrs and yet management would question every decision I make. It became unbearable that I finally got up and left. Once I put my notice in, it seems as though I no longer existed and that my 10 plus years of service did not matter. Well, thank you Mercury for making me seek other opportunity elsewhere. It was the best decision I have made.
