      Pros

      Mercury was initially (9 years ago) a great to be employed with a more family / logical approach to it's employees. There has been a shift to corporate micromanagement in the past 3-5 years as new corporate leadership has been brought in from other Insurance companies.

      Cons

      Unfortunately, Mercury is currently under financial hardship & layoffs are taking place all over the country. My position, along with 26 others, were eliminated. This is their second layoff in five years.

      Pros

      It is a very laid back company, and the dress code is casual. After you start working there, they also help adjust your time to best fit your needs. If you have a long commute, you can choose a better schedule such as arriving early.

      Cons

      Some of the management is incompetent, and the over all mindset is of a very small family oriented company. There have been three mass layoffs in the last four years, which leads me to believe there is a lot of mismanagement of funds at the top.
