Pros

I love my co workers and my patients. I think my pay is fair for the work I do.

Cons

The " leadership" is anything but. Vacation time is normally denied Very poor work/ life balance "Leadership" normally does not follow the policies, unless it benefits them. Input / suggestions from staff are normally ignored / concerns are not addressed in a timely manner / lack of transparency. Nursing staff does not have support.

Pros

Pre-Merge I was able to gain experience and develop a ladder of success and get promotions and have input on how our department did things. Now they are soo VP/Director/Manager heavy that its just a huge mess.

Cons

No money for upgrades or pay raises yet they keep bringing on new Directors and creating manager positions for no reason. The entire place is more focused on placing blame on others for dumb things rather than fixing stuff and making sure the hospital is running smoothly. Example: Someone accidentally brings down an entire switch, the focus is on digging through the logs rather than bringing the switch back up and making sure everything is working again. It's hard to build a team when the turnover is this bad. When this place was just Rockford Memorial nobody ever left, since become Mercy the amount on knowledge that's walked out the door due to the poor culture is mind blowing and they don't care because they have only been bringing in very entry level people to fill the spots so they can pay them peanuts.
