Pros

- Great benefits - Fun and exciting job which motivates me to work everyday - Great work life balance - Management has lots of transparency and support

Cons

- Sometimes being a smaller company means getting pushed around by larger clients who have less than ideal cultures. But management will always try to protect us as far as they can

Not a world class company

Pros

Some of the benefits from old management

Cons

The employee is not important you are only a number. The layer of managers are not people oriented, they are on the position only because of time in the company or they are good in their previous job but a few of them are good with people.

Pros

For new grads and non tech sector employees, there’s a lot of opportunities within the company since they are confident that they can train anyone that passes the thorough interview process to learn the products. A strong proponent of remote working with very good work life balance. Very nice coworkers that are willing to help when asked upon. Majority of the workers will say that their favorite thing about the company is the people. Opportunities for employees to get promoted to management as they like managers who can sub in and do the work when necessary. Steady sales growth with healthy cashflow the past few years.

Cons

The company’s emphasis over the past 5 years has been to cut expenses instead of focusing on growth as in other great pre-ipo companies. Unfair US wage structure where every city in the US is considered 1 labor market so employees in metropolitan cities risk being paid below local market value. No pay adjustments for ICs that get promoted to managers. Claims that it’s not in their policy. Half a week of pay for paternal leave with hesitation on granting government PFL. A culture of secretive non open communication from management. No emphasis on continuous training (no budget for taking professional courses, etc) Rarely would the company use industry standard software or tools to help promote work productivity. This makes it difficult for employees to gain relevant skills that can be used for careers outside of Metaswitch if you stay there for too long. Company housing in the U.K. is like a college dorm and is not suitable for seasoned professionals.
