      Love the patient population but....

      Pros

      The retirement plan is great as well as the pay. You learn a lot working with these very sick people and it helps you gain perspective when many are poor or homeless.

      Cons

      It's very unorganized and disconnected. Behind on policy and evidenced based practices as well as technology. I had a overall terrible experience and felt unsupported during my orientation and HR didn't care. The first Manager I had was racist.

      Strong community commitment, provides excellent level of medical care to underserved people who would otherwise not have access.

      Cons

      As a public hospital it struggles with bureaucracy and the limitations of Medicaid.
