Pros

Government job, standard benefits, noble mission to serve the NYC population. Excellent place to retire. Nice location by Seaport.

Cons

Little to no leadership, leadership is from the bottom up. Systematic abuse of power by executives to encourage nepotism and skim off city funds to award contracts & management positions to friends. Substandard salaries for those who are not "favored". Raises are non existent ; unless you are "favored". Not the place to be if you want to grow your career and develop your skills.

Pros

The great thing about working for MetroPlus is that it is a city job so if you sign up for NYCERS and work for the city for a minimum of 10 years, you are fully vested for retirement.

Cons

There is a lack of promotional opportunities, salaries are low, and most of all, at least 75% of employees at this company are lazy. There is too much of the "that's not my job" attitude at this company.

First, we would like to thank you for your 10 years of service with the MetroPlus team. Second, we would like to apologize for the experience you had while working for us. It’s important to us that foster a workplace that is positive and productive for everyone, though based on your review, it doesn’t seem like we met that goal for you. If you are willing to, we would like to hear more details about ways in which you think we could improve the workplace for everyone. Please don’t hesitate to send a message to employee.engagement@metroplus.org. We will have someone respond to your inquiry shortly! Best regards.

Pros

Benefits, Benefits, Benefits...also good experience in the industry

Cons

Office Culture is TERRIBLE...it's all about who likes you or who you are related to in order to get a "promotion" in which you have to apply via intranet and hope you get an interview. Promotions are non-existent, don't expect a raise, no bonus or insentive programs and ghetto coworkers.
