Pros

Room to advance if you're in the right department and are on the good side of upper management. They're good at moving you into different departments, but will always keep you at your original pay.

Cons

This company will rarely give you any kind of raise. You have to work here for around 5 years to get any kind of significant raise. MetroNet began contracting out the work of one of their departments. As an employee of said department. We were informed that we'd be moved into a completely different job, willingly or not. They told us this a week before they contracted our work out. Other departments were already made aware of our situation before they told us. Our pay stayed the same, even though everyone in this new department was making $5.00 an hour more than us. The upper management prefers to promote males instead of females. The upper management is known to yell at low level employees. Only sent workers home for 2 weeks during the Covid outbreak. Middle management is pressured to always raise their numbers and cut costs. This resulted in us being told we had to do do more work in less time while taking our OT options away from us. Management often lies to their employees about their future at the company. High stress due to unrealistic goals. Brought into a 1 on 1 meeting with upper management where I was told I'd be getting a raise and a slight promotion. The next day I was told I'd be forced to move to a different department and learning a new job with a 1 week notice. The two departments I was a part of in my year at Metronet both had poor training programs. The trainer would frequently talk like I had 3 years experience under my belt, this includes the first day of our training. Most employee's in middle management are so worried about being fired, that they'll say or do anything to keep their job. This results in their direct employee's being mistreated.

Pros

MetroNet is full of many brilliant people. The associate benefits are top notch for the market. MetroNet provides a lot of flexibility for people to change departments and roles to fit their career aspirations. Provides a top tier product to its customers, and provides many training opportunities to its associates. I always appreciated the diversity of the teams I worked with there.

Cons

I was appalled by the way some managers and above would treat fellow associates. Several people made it to positions they were not qualified, most stayed in their lane, others would tear down any other person or team to deflect attention. Many people there were afraid make suggestions for fear of retaliation. Dependent of the department you are in work/life balance may not exist. Pay is mediocre at best and promotions were only in title.

Pros

Working Outside and getting 40 hours a week!

Cons

Management- if you don’t kiss ... your pretty much on thin ice and going to get let go. The pay is absolute garbage for the amount of work you do. Management hires his buddies or good ole boys and over pays them while they can’t even perform duties at work. Let alone walk or get up in the morning you have better luck getting coronavirus here then respect. LITERALLY we are still going into peoples homes during the coronavirus pandemic oh yeah NO HAZARD PAY AS WELL SMFH! Odds are you will train someone who has 0 experience in the industry but makes more money then you do. Sales!!!!! I am a technician my job is to repair or install services not be forced to sell then if you don’t sale you get written up and put on a PIP. Also you can be the best tech in your market have the best TECH numbers IE repeats on repairs and repeats on installs and if you don’t SELL enough extenders you won’t get a raise LOL literally watched a tech that deserved a raise not get one because he didn’t sell which is not his job or in his job description this should not be the case because there is an entire sales department for that not the techs!!! Oh wait ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEES..... MY .... If you are an in house Comcast tech be happy where you are ! If you are a AT&T tech well your a union laborer so we know your happy ! Lol the only way employees will be treated like they should is if Metronet goes union because the amount of work you do and the pay they offer is way off.
