Pros

no pressure at all. you have a minor chances of meeting interesting people

Cons

the people are conservative and uncooperative. They never know the direction but just busy attending various pointless meetings. The products are crazily expensive while the services are poor. Generally, you can't learn anything from this company and it's simply a waste of time to stay there.

Micromanagement, Gossip, Unclear Goals

Pros

I can pay my bills... Mostly.

Cons

You get hired to do a job with unclear goals. Even after trying to communicate with your manager and pry the desired outcome out of them, you're left with "I'm busy in a meeting". So being an intelligent and resourceful employee, you use your expertise to figure out the best guess of what they want. Except… it's Not That. And now that you can no longer be trusted to do your work correctly, you get micromanaged. But ironically, no more clear goals than before. You're eternally set up to fail. There also seems to be a major problem with office gossip/politics. Managers complain about other managers to their own subordinates. Managers shout loud enough over the phone that you can hear them clearly in closed meeting rooms. Managers degrade their employees when they're asked for common professional courtesy. If you can manage to do the bare minimum but suck up enough, you will not draw attention and keep your job. There are people here doing the same thing for 15-20 years. But anyone who comes in and tries to change things or make a difference? Can't have that. You're a trouble maker. I've seen it many, many times. Fresh young talent, or even just professionally experienced talent, comes in and tries to fix the easiest thing and they become a target.

Poor Management, The people running the company have little or no experience.

Pros

The people that make up the company are all great, I've made many friends. They offer the average time off and vacation policy.

Cons

Management is the worst, all they care about is the bottom line. Sales takes in orders they know will be difficult to achieve margin on. The sales teams knows this so they submit any quote they can at the end of the month to ensure the sale is accepted to meet numbers. Management is on a witch hunt watching everything everybody does. This causes everyone to watch their back and finger point when something goes wrong. The quality of the product has slipped in the last few years, but management is more concerned with rearranging shop work flow, which they do about every 10 months and getting the system out the door. Turn over is high, 20+ employees in the last 2 years, but management calls this normal for the industry.
