Relaxed work atmosphere, flexible schedules. Good work life balance. Don't take work home ever. Environment is not stressful and laid back and there is little oversight of time use.

Cons

Little mobility, very bureaucratic. Hiring is based a lot on friends and family. Culture is stagnant and unchanging unless change in management.

The only pros the county has is the benefits. That’s all I can say.

Cons

Working here I’ve noticed that the county is a disaster and I’m not the only county employee that says that. The county is so very disorganized and every department has so many issues and management sucks. Also the pay for the county is not worth it unless you’re in a management role or director role. But if you’re not you be lucky if you find a job that’s 43k as starting pay.
