Great location and friendly people to work for.

Cons

I wish I could have gone to the field site and see the work I was doing put into action. It is nice meeting other people in the industry, networking with them, and learning from other people outside of Michael Baker. There were sometimes when I felt that I did not have the knowledge base to complete tasks I was assigned and I was looked down for it. I am a competent person and am here to learn. Sometimes some of the other employees need to be more patient with new interns.

Salary and bonus reflect hard working. Friendly working environment. Managers respect different opinions. Managers support employees to attend training programs or pursue higher degree.

Cons

Only a few oppotunities to work internationally at Michael Baker. Baker usually works on similar type of projects. It is a good place to lean deeply; not widely.

Pros

Very talented employees, leaders in their field. Company is very neatly organized, you might even go as far to say over-organized. Overall a top engineering firm based solely on their performance as a consultant.

Cons

A small company with a big corporate attitude. Don't expect to see promotions unless you buy in to the brown-nose-to-the-top attitude. But seriously, you will get ill from this, very ill!! The company also struggles from a social sickness just like many big companies ten times its size. What I mean by this is simply this: expect a lot of gossip and rumors and just flat-out b.s. I've worked for many other companies and have come to expect this, however, it is just over the top here. So if you enjoy nepotism, hypocrisy, whistleblowing, brown-nosing, disrespect and feeling like an employee straight out of "The Office", I highly recommend this company.
