Nice facility in a remote location.

Pros

Good place to stay focused on research, not too many distractions from work. Lab facilities are adequate, and most colleagues are friendly.

Cons

Remote location, so sometimes it is a little difficult to establish and maintain productive contacts with industry peers. Relatively small Department with just a few professors sharing the same research interests makes it harder to build a world-class research team.

Pros

Ample time off, good benefits, and a nice area to work. Most of the people are competent. While there is not a lot of diversity in the workplace there is plenty of diversity on campus.

Cons

Complacency has caused many workers to underperform. 20% of the people do 80% of the work. They don't put much interest in their employees until it's too late.
