Pros
Great students, ok pay, you will find some wonderful people to work with. If seeking to work in higher ed in the area it is a good option. For those wanting to live in this area it is a good option. Sought after for technological studies and advances
Cons
Be ready to take on responsibilities that are not in your job description or skill set. Many staff positions get reduced but expectations are to still have the same or more productivity--very little support. Salary is ok but pay raises are minimal-3% if you perform well. Change works at a very slow pace to make improvements but quick to cut and move things around without consideration for the greater impact. Communication on changes is limited. Be prepared to pivot and respond at a moments notice. Recommendations and feedback typically fall on deaf ears. The location is a bit remote so many staff are locals that have not previously worked in higher education. The lens of experience is limited and campus tends to be stagnant due to lack of experience and ideas from other institutions.
