Great coworkers if you love tech, but management forces you to scam customers

Pros

1. Get access and discounts on all the latest computer and tech stuff 2. Meet likeminded individuals (e.g, nerds, gamers, and other weirdos) 3. A lot of fun customer interaction 4. Can get a very high salary if you have good sales metrics, but that often involves persuading customers into buying things they don't really need.

Cons

1. Management is very inflexible with scheduling 2. Management forces you to sell overpriced attachments on all items, like warranties, antivirus, and other software. If you don't, you get reprimanded and your pay gets cut (your commission is based on how much you can upsell customers into buying software, warranties, and credit cards). 3. Pay is based on how much you scam customers to buy things they don't really need.

As good as retail gets, but it's still retail.

Pros

Excellent pay for the position. Despite being commission based, the earnings potential is fantastic comparative to other similar positions. Surrounded by new technology, including top of the line PC components, systems, and peripherals. Good benefits for a retail position. Very responsive and compassionate HR department.

Cons

Upper management is more focused on numbers than employee satisfaction. Hours can vary wildly if you don't meet their constantly increasing standards, and feedback is rarely taken into account. Upper management often will use bullying tactics to get employees to do what they want, be it moving to an undesired department, taking worse hours, or just quitting. If it weren't for the upper management team, this review would probably be 4 stars.
