Pros

If you like computers and retail, this place is for you. Excellent growth opportunity if the time is put in. Great medical/dental/vision plan Friendly environment (Stores and corporate) Open door policy, actually lives up to this claim Company and stores are small and tight knit enough that your opinions and voice are usually heard Very little "clique" activity Good pay if you work hard in a commission position (see cons) Work/Life balance is very good on the corporate side. (see cons) CEO is a down to earth, nice guy. That means something in a company with thousands of employees.

Cons

Still a lot of office politics Company is very wary to spend money Focus is more on driving sales then curbing inefficiencies Corporate office is windowless Low pay if you are not commissioned. IT/Help desk/management positions low compared to industry Work/life balance in the store is pretty bad. This is similar with most retail. Don't expect to take a day off from before Thanksgiving through February.

Pros

If you sell heavily and get your sticker on everything out the door, you'll be rewarded with good pay. Pays better than most retailers out there. Fun to interact with people and a well managed work environment.

Cons

No room for improvement. Management determines your growth in the company, not your hard work. Inconsistent pay, depending on the season, you'll get paid more or less.

Pros

I have learned a lot from this job. I didn't know what a processor was or looked like before this job. Now I feel confident in building a computer. Very flexible in scheduling. Doesn't start off at minimum wage. Yearly raises. Everyone tries to be friends. Great culture. Great training. Moving to to sales floor is easy if you want it. Micro Center is doing well as a business. It is not going anywhere so job stability is also a plus.

Cons

It is all about plans. if you want to move to the floor, you could have a masters in IT but if you do not sell plans, forget about it. It is not your average cashier job. You cannot just ring up and tell the customers to have a good day. You must ask for their information, and make sure you ask for plans.
