Pros

You get to work with people you hire...so if you are good then they are good.

Cons

Not family oriented schedule, pay is way below average for what is expected, upper management does not take care of their management team...from the president down

Pros

Mike's invests heavily in training and their associates. The majority of people you work with are friendly and welcoming. You get to work outside (which can be good or bad depending on how you look at it). Gain-sharing is a cool concept so you get paid 3 out of every 4 weeks.

Cons

Mike's forgets they are a car wash. They think they are a 5 star all-inclusive resort in a tropical mecca. Somehow they get away with not paying employees their PTO balance after resignation or termination. Locations are normally short staffed because of the ridiculous hiring practices (a car wash that hires 1 out of 100 people). You tend to have to pick up shifts at other locations to help out with short staffing. Location Management freaks out with the "ops reports" which Mike's gives quite frequently. You get counted off if the soap totes, water softener, boilers, or any piece of equipment in the backroom has a smudge or any bit of dust (which makes no sense because it does not affect customer perception or profitability). You have to wear a tie at all times unless it's above 80, keep in mind that where the employees spray cars down is at least 20 degrees warmer than the normal temperature. So an employee loading cars cannot take their ties off unless it feels like 100. Sunglasses cannot be worn, so you are outside staring into the direct sunlight harming your eyesight. Mike's damages cars and will talk their way out of paying for them by assuming "there had to be previous damage." Most locations have minimal office space so there's no spot for an employee to take a real lunch break, and if you are lucky enough, it often gets interrupted due to short staffing.
