Pros

challenging work on every level and any position management will listen to ideas on shaping positions into something different management wants to make sure that the right person is performing in the role that fits their skills it call comes down to the customer and how all divisions can work together to make that happen no matter what the challenge is the hiring process allows Miles to get quality candidates which results in lower turnover Miles works with you when you are struggling and tries to work out a long term plan for your improvement rather than just fire you. anyone in the company is willing to help if you have a question or point you in the right direction sharing of information and knowledge is encouraged and not to be guarded in fear of job security

Cons

no bonus structure for possibly earning more $ tied to performance while the growth is fantastic the negative side is workload gets to be a lot prior to hiring additional help not hiring higher level talent to fill positions. It is more of a grooming process of entry level people which takes time to develop

Client CIO

Pros

Work-Life balance is the best I've seen. The company is fast growing - do your job well and you've got a very stable employment future. The position of CIO is a highly respected role within the company. It's exciting, fast paced and keeps you on your toes with all kinds of technologies. You're responsible for your client's over-all experience with Miles and as such find yourself in ad-hoc management roles with support and project groups on a regular basis ... as such you will definitely keep your leadership and management skills sharp.

Cons

Miles is a quickly growing company with services that are in high demand by it's rapidly expanding client base. Sometimes this means your attention can get pulled in many directions at once, but the company is also really good at recognizing employee thresholds and pivoting, or putting into place new organizational ideas, to keep employee workloads reasonable. You have to be ready for a shifting set of responsibilities to work here ... but if you are flexible you'll be right at home.

A Slightly Above-Average Company

Business Outlook

Pros

1. The company has a fully stocked refrigerator where employees can go and make a snack or a sandwich. 2. People are encouraged to get certifications and further education. 3. The environment in general now feels more relaxed after the president modified the dress code as well as the need to clock in and out to every task. 4. There's flexibility in using one's vacation days and/or overtime.

Cons

1. There's little room for promotions and movement within the company. 2. Below-average starting salary that only marginally improves every year. 3. Poor-performing computers for an IT company. 4. A number of the web-based applications that the company produces sometimes require an unnecessary learning curve. For example, what can be done in two steps using any other commercially available application takes five with what they have developed.
