Pros

Some challenging projects. Good hours.

Cons

Manager lies and made poor decisions and played favorites. A good engineer is not necessarily a good manager. Some, clicky, back-stabbing coworkers that think the world revolves around them.

Pros

No nonsense. It's evident that they focus on hiring smart people. You can lean into working on projects in areas that interest you. From the top all the way down, leadership empowers you to make decisions.

Cons

Extremely high expectations. Conflicting priorities. Stingy vacation/fringe benefits. Near-Zero flexibility with work schedule. Your best bet to get a significant pay increase is to leave the company.

Pros

Health insurance and some of the people.

Cons

Doing more with less year over year. There comes a point in time where you can’t make cuts any more because you’ve done so for more than a decade and there’s nothing else to cut. The pay truly is not that exceptional. The yearly merit increases usually don’t cover the cost of living increase so you make less year over year. If you don’t get the $ when you walk through the door, you’ll never get it.
