      Entrepreneurial actuarial firm whose services are in high demand Some offices have very talented individuals who are willing to teach others Milliman name is respected by clients

      Offices allowed autonomy, resulting in several degrees of difference in quality between them Lack of management training of equity principles results in poor morale in offices Equity principles control promotion and have incentives to block promotion Business ethics

      Good company, bad work-life balance

      Pros

      Smart, entrepreneurial staff. Fair compensation for excess hours worked. Interesting work. Ample opportunity to take on more work/new roles. If you are valuable and your principles are good, you will have plenty of billable hours.

      Cons

      Multiple urgent projects vying for attention at all times. Sometimes just feels like an endless production line of urgent work. Management more interested in using you up than developing you. Development is largely independent. Business can get in the way of real learning. Heavy, heavy focus on billable hours.
