Pros
If you like to be challenged and learn new things, Mimeo is great. There are always opportunities to move laterally and take on more work, but not necessarily more pay. Co-workers are great - I don't hear a lot of office gossip and everyone seems to be invested in what they are doing. Our new "core values" are being communicated, and most people here seem to really care about our company and our customers. There isn't much micromanagement that I can see. Leadership seems to be letting groups manage themselves. New employee training has come a long way recently, and they do a good job of making new hires feel welcome. Insurance benefits are pretty good - people complain, but they don't realize how expensive it is at other places. 401K matching is finally back in place, if you can afford to put into it. Many people can't since life is just expensive.
Cons
Even when you work hard, promotions are few and far between and management is very flat. Most of our top leaders are tall, white, type A males who play politics well in a southern and NYC boy's club - very few women or less aggressive personalities are ever promoted, Most VP hires except Sales come from the outside. I'm not sure I really trust management to take care of its employees. I don't ever feel safe in my job even though I work hard and do a good job. Mimeo tends to not replace people who leave, and we are always expected to work harder to make up the difference. You are expected to mostly manage yourself and any professional development. There are no clear professional career paths here and HR doesn't seem to want to invest any time in training anyone except for new people.
