Fond memories of Mindbody, not so much of new ClassPass leadership.
Pros
Prior to involvement with ClassPass (Acquired by MB in Oct 2021) -Some of the best people I've ever worked with. Talented, collaborative, pleasant to work with. -Leadership cared about employees. they still had to make business decisions but did their best to treat us fairly. -Great work, lots of room to suggest changes and bring them to life. Post CP Acquisition: -New CEO is charismatic. (tall and white, too...but I think those go into the cons.) -Probably decent career opportunities if you like the culture. Lots of people are leaving and it is opening up positions
Cons
Prior to ClassPass Acquisition: -Depending on your level in the company, Work life balance was not there. Lack of deep, cohesive, strategic planning to make sure initiatives could be accomplished without burning out the workforce. -Plans were constantly changing that created a lot of extra work on top of already big workloads. Post ClassPass Acquisition - -This was a really destructive merger with the ClassPass CEO wagging the dog, so to speak. He, and the CFO, brought a lack of disciplined financial focus on decisions being made. -New CEO is very nepotistic: he makes decisions based on relationships not business outcomes. He is shortsighted and thinks his experience leading a company 1/4 the size of Mindbody prepared him to lead Mindbody. It did not. -Overall, the Classpass culture did not mesh with the Mindbody culture and Mindbody lost out. So many of the CP team were bullish and rude, making me dread working with them. -Some intentional lack of compliance (!), and LOTS of unintentional lack of compliance due to ignorance from CP team and leadership that is now in charge.
