Paychex SOW - Would not Recommend

Pros

- Work life balance - Full remote - You could probably get away with doing 3 hours of work per sprint (2 weeks) Yep that’s it

Cons

- Pay is bad - Paychex (who you’d probably work for) is offshoring devs and your job next year will be in jeopardy - No upward mobility - Tech stack is “not bad” but nobody knows how to write code here. They are all .net devs who write .net style code in Java. - Angular/react frontend is awful to develop, no hot reloading - Work is often pretty linear and boring, nothing “new” to learn. - The infrastructure that Paychex uses is often times broken. Hence common things like core applications, Jenkins, confluence, bit bucket are often times down or slow. - Everything and I mean everything is slow

It's a pretty good company to work for that has a solid work life balance, great flexibility, and nice people

Cons

nothing comes to mind. maybe more activities or events for employees who are employed outside of Rochester, NY.
