Pros

I started working for MAC almost 3 years ago, as a Behavioral Therapist opening the Skills Development Center. Working for MAC has been a great experience! I have been able to grow within the company from a Behavioral Therapist to now a Lead Therapist. MAC has provided great training and support to help me grow as a professional. MAC has always been a positive, exciting and fun work place with a close family feel!

Cons

Working with kids keeps you busy and on the go! It sure is fun and rewarding!

Pros

-It is so rewarding to see the clients learn and grow each day -I think it is great to have so many people working together to make such a difference in the autism world right here in MN, MAC has helped so many kids and families throughout the years and I am excited to see what they come up with next to help individuals and families. -MAC has so many great ways to help individuals: the school, the centers, in-home services, and the Skills Development Centers -I have always been treated with respect and dignity by admin staff and clinical staff -HR has always been helpful and understanding when I have gone to them throughout the years with many different situations -They have many training opportunities throughout the year, including online training for all staff to participate in at their leisure -Great opportunities to advance when you are a hard worker and open to feedback -I think it is amazing how the clients come first at this company and we strive to best serve them -MAC has been a great company to work for throughout the years and I will always continue to support and spread the word about this great organization

Cons

-The healthcare benefits aren't as good as some companies but I guess I didn't get a job with MAC for the healthcare benefits, I did it to help the kids/families -Supervisors will oversee your sessions with clients now and then, at first this made me nervous, but I quickly learned that it helped my sessions and I was able to learn a lot when I applied their feedback because they understood the techniques and how to work with the clients -Sure there is some turn-around but all companies in this type of field has a higher turn-around rate because of the intensity of services

Tiring 😩

Pros

The only pro is helping the children to achieve a better quality of life, which can me rewarding.😊

Cons

* Management standing up for the leads, not matter if they're right or wrong. * People like to snitch, so be careful and trust Nobody! * "1" half hour break ALL day, which is unpaid. 😟 * Lots of "mandatory" meetings with little notice * Very clicky, reminds me of high school 😝 * Children bolt, flop, bite, poop their pants and have behaviors 😬 * You're with your child "all" the time! If you need a bathroom break, you must find a therapist that is willing to watch your kid. At times, I've asked 3 therapists, and nobody would watch my child. * Very challenging and tiring to get children who are non verbal to do their programs. It's usually due to a behavior, or they just don't want to do it, which is mentally waring on the therapists. * Physically exhausting having to chase a kid down the hall, or trying to pick one up off the floor when they flop down. Also, having a kid kick or bite you is a 'stress' all on its own. 😖
