Pros

The best part was the relationship developed with the children and learning more about the challenges of autism.

Cons

The staff and leadership were condescending to each other Leadership had people in place trying to move up by telling on other staff The staff was criticized even though they did their best Highly educated people were left feeling incapable Highly controlling environment, staff was publicly shamed Those that think your degree will be put use; think again you are told to jump and your answer should be "how high?" This job sucked the life out of me

Pros

The clients and families are the best people you’ll meet. Lower management generally good. Pay competitive for the area. Fun job. You truly make a difference, as long as you don’t rock the boat.

Cons

High pressure, focus is on the amount of money we can bring in(“Rockstars of the week” based on who billed the most), the true why is money, HR department doesn’t proactively communicate, gets rid of higher paid staff who have been there longer because of financial needs. Don’t speak up too much, or against a person in power,or you might be targeted as trouble, regardless of the quality of your work.

Pros

Amazing clients. Chance to teach important skills and watch clients grow. Ability to bounce ideas off coworkers and collaborate.

Cons

Administration is not transparent with things that affect employees and not consistent with follow through on plans or promises. Often understaffed which is stressful for employees. Having to drive to/support at other centers that are understaffed around the metro area. High turnover.
