Pros

- Learn ABA techniques, problem solving, and managing intense behaviors -The kids are the best part of the job, very rewarding seeing their progress

Cons

- During the hiring process they tell you it is easy to get raises and "level up" as a Behavior Therapist, this is a lie - supervisors don't have the time and don't care if you desire to move up - No respect for employees, supervisors micromanage, and various higher ups are always looking over your shoulder and taking notes on what you are doing with your client. - Supervisors will also call you out for doing something wrong in front of coworkers and clients - They train their employees "ABA" style - MAC does not care about sensory needs or calming tools for kids - every single behavior has to be documented as a "behavior" and then you are suppose to ignore your client until they calm down again. - Some centers don't have a break room for employees, some centers you only get 15 minutes to eat lunch. It's impossible to get a bathroom break throughout the day - Good luck getting a promotion unless you are willing to be a brow-noser - Terrible health insurance - Pay was okay for the role but you don't get a full 40 hours

The worst bait and switch EVER

Pros

Helping kids is always a plus.

Cons

Was hired on at a certain salary and position. Noticed higher ups and lateral employees leaving at a fast pace, then others were being let go. It was a sinking ship. After a little over a year passed and I was told I was being switched to a different position for less pay. Not demoted, but "reassigned". That was fine by me. After watching children being treated as billable hours and not children with individual special needs, I was ready for the change this forced me to make. Outta that blood sucking environment.
