Pros

Discounted food, free coffee, access to the gym, the resident run thrift store, resident art installations

Cons

Absolute chaos. Management and marketing sit in their ivory tower while workers toil in unsafe and unpredictable conditions. Only one security guard on duty at a time working 12-hour shifts with no breaks. Poor communication between departments constantly led to angry residents and family members. Maintenance and facilities departments did not communicate when repairs were scheduled for the elevators, so residents would be stranded on their floors and understandably upset. Staff turnover is very high and tensions also run high because everyone is stretched so incredibly thin. Management tries to push the geriatric equivalent of Facebook on residents as the only place to submit maintenance requests, schedule trips, reserve rooms, etc. - 80% of the residents are not comfortable using a computer.

Pros

Healthcare benefits are pretty decent. Patient to CNA ratio is decent (1:9). Does offer tuition scholarship benefits. If you’re able to take a lunch, the kitchen usually has extra left overs for free!

Cons

Management doesn’t seem to care or listen to constructive feedback from CNAs or nurses. Typically too busy to take an unpaid lunch break and two 15 minute paid breaks (if you’re lucky you’ll be able to find 15 minutes to scarf down your lunch for your 8 hour shifts).

Feedback from our direct care team means a great deal to us. We’re committed to strengthening communication and support so your breaks, needs, and concerns aren’t overlooked. If you’re open to continuing the conversation, please reach out to your manager or our HR team.

Pros

Great benefits such as scholarships, medical plans, and lots of PTO.

Cons

Very little pay for frustrating customers and what they expect from you. There is a lot of turnover due to people becoming burnt out fast.

Thank you for sharing your feedback; it’s important to us. We do evaluate our pay structure and work hard to create a positive experience for both employees and our residents. Please reach out to me with your concerns, as we value open conversations about how we can improve. – Ky Moody, MBS Executive Director, 206-254-1400.
