Pros

Some of the original employees have stayed there. They are great

Cons

Angel med. used to be a very patient friendly small comm. hospital. The Mission Health took over and WOW! You can feel the tension when you walk in the building.

Appreciate the feedback. Sounds like you are an Angel Medical center employee who has committed your time and strengths to helping patients for over 10 years. Kudos for that, as it is certainly not easy work. Dr. Paulus has received several accolades, most recently: List of North Carolina’s Most Influential Leaders http://newsroom.mission-health.org/2018/02/paulus-md-power-100/ and also he's ranked No. 13 of the 50 Most Influential Physician Executives and Leaders by Modern Healthcare http://newsroom.mission-health.org/2017/06/mission-health-president-ceo-ronald-paulus-md-among-top-50-influential-nation/. Thanks for the work you do at Angel and for the Mission Health system.

Pros

I wish I could share some pros.

Cons

You would think an organization who's primary responsibility is to provide quality healthcare to patients and the community would extend the same philosophy to its employees. Sadly, the system is top heavy and has little concern about providing a healthy environment for its employees. There is no reward for hard work and dedication. Meager wages makes it had to survive in the overpriced city of Asheville. Management and administration are overall a heartless bunch who consistently threaten to layoff staff due to "gap mitigation!' While most of them receive underserved bonuses that equal what most make in a year or more.

We appreciate your feedback, as well as your concerns for the areas where we can improve. Our compensation structure is being reviewed annually, and last year we increased our minimum salary wage offered. I will share your concerns with our leadership, and encourage you to share feedback with your own leader during your weekly StandOut check in. Your work is essential, and we continue to focus on the Bigger Aim which includes you as a priority: "To get every person to their desired outcome, first without harm, also without waste and always with an exceptional experience for each person, family and team member."
