Pros

Despite the amazing lunch room and view of the city, Absolutely nothing is a positive with this company

Cons

Management is awful and will stab you in the back. During training you are treated like you're in middle school and given weekly grades. They tell you when you first start that its ok to make a mistake and that everyone makes them but then when you make a mistake it is treated as a big ordeal. Grades are based off multiple 3 point assignments and if you miss something on an enrollment or you make a mistake and correct it later you will lose a point and automatically fail. If you fail during the week they pull you aside on Monday morning and scold you and tell you that you need to do better. They give assignments out and will not train you how to do every type of assignment and with their vague software you don't know that it is a different type of enrollment and when you get it wrong its your fault and not theirs, or they'll accidently give you an assignment that they later admit was a mistake that you got it and it should've never been sent to your work bucket and they will give you a 0/3 points on it because you "should've known not to complete it" instead of admitting it was their fault and respecting that a good employee does as they're told. The work week is 37.5 hours, pay is mediocre and you have to pay $50-$100+ a week for parking. Pay us $17 an hour

Pros

They offered flex time to their employees.

Cons

It was a very negative, hate-filled and toxic environment to work in company wide.

Pros

Lots of hard-working individual contributors who show up and give their all every day. A handful of good leaders who try to do the right thing.

Cons

There is no ethical or moral compass guiding decision makers for this company. It has been mismanaged for so long that the state has finally had to go on site to oversee the financial decisions in order to ensure claims are going to get paid. The working environment is so toxic, it's a wonder they have any employees left. From what my contacts who are still there tell me, if everyone who is looking for a new job finds one, there will be only a handful of employees left to do the work created by the overly top-heavy C-suite. If you are reading this review and considering applying at or accepting an offer from Moda, do yourself a favor and run away as fast as you can. Reading the current media storm about how dire the financial situation is, requiring the insurance division intervention is a clear indicator of the trajectory of where they are heading. Sadly, instead of strong, ethical business practices that follow a sound well-thought out business plan, this company has been scrambling in a reactionary mode for so long, they think that's the norm and call it being agile. The decisions at the top are made purely to feed massive egos rather than doing what's right. There is a different set of rules for employees versus supervisors and above. Employees are expected to follow every rule set forth in the handbook, however leaders, particularly directors and above, can get away with unthinkable behavior. Bullying and general disrespectful treatment towards employees is not only tolerated but rewarded through promotions and other perks. In an ethical company, every employee regardless of rank is held to the same behavioral standards and expectations.
