Pros

Its a good place to learn engineering processes if you're just starting out: automated regression tests, large test suites, individual developer development environments, dual monitors, work laptop, formal design specifications required prior to beginning work.

Cons

Passing the buck from some members of the organization rather than taking responsibility to ensure that their part is done well.
