Not what you know but who you know mentality. You will not elevate in any position unless you bow down to management. Basically, you will be stuck in a position for years unless you suck up regardless of education. People with high school educations are making promotion decisions on people with degrees.

Benefits are a joke for production employees. Work 12 hours shifts and get 1 1/2 points per absence on a 10 point system. Shift differential is only. 15¢, They use a lot of temp workers, but never hire full-time. Having hard time finding people because reputation is out there. No traditional pension, and they suspended their 401k contribution. Salary people have sick pay, but production has none. The only place I've worked that really needs a union. Have always thought employees and management could work things out without a union, but Modine in Joplin has changed my mind on that

Beyond lean in staff, too many jobs to do and not enough time to do them. Not adding resources to help with the workload. We have always done it this way mentality from many employees - resistance to change. Unclear what the business goals are during this transition period.

Management has no plan to sustain a reasonable operating margin.

At this time I do not have anything significant. The reluctance to spend on tooling significant is troublesome but in my experience it is usually heavily regulated having to do an extensive cost analysis before something is approved at a publically traded company.
